Joan Singleton

Expertise: Anything to do with how we care for each other but really anything Bible based and applied
Qualifications: MA in Applied Theology, taught various pastoral care courses in the Irish Bible Institute including the Ministry and Personal Development module (previously IBS) for 20 years and she is an elder in her church. She also served as a staff worker with CUI and lived in Thurles, Co Tipperary for 12 years, Cork for 2 years.

Bio: Joan grew up on a farm in County Antrim, qualified as a geography teacher, spent 2 years in Cork as part of a student witness team, worked with CUI for 4 years; lived in England for 10 years where she taught English as a second language to Asian adults, lived in Thurles for 12 years helping her husband pastored a church. She is currently teaching in the Irish Bible Institute – mainly pastoral care and ministry and personal development. Joan serves as an uelder in Dublin West Community church. She does some speaking and running seminars in many areas. Most recently she has been really encouraged to run seminars for church leaders and/or members on how to ‘structure’ caring in a local church in a way that used the abilities and gifts of all in a biblically wise way.
Joan enjoys time with her daughter, son and daughter in law and granddaughter. She finds gardening therapeutic, enjoy watching sport, quizzes and murder mysteries on TV and like playing board games and time over good coffee with friends.
